Day 4: Naples/Pompeii
MSC Divina will arrive at the Naples/Pompeii port at 11:00 AM. After breakfast, passengers will have personal time to explore this location. Located in the Campania region of Italy, Naples and Pompeii are famous for housing the remains of Pompeii, one of Europe’s most intriguing archaeological sites. Additionally, Pompeii is an ancient Roman city and is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Therefore, it is highly recommended for archaeology and history enthusiasts.
Pompeii was an ancient Roman city located in the Campania region, near present-day Naples, within the lands of the Pompeii ruins. Key sites to visit include: the Amphitheater, the Great Palaestra, the House of Vettii, the House of the Faun, the Forum, the Temple of Apollo, Via dei Sepolcri (Street of Tombs), Lupanar, an ancient brothel filled with pornographic frescoes, the House of Faun Antiques, the Basilica, the Forum Grain Warehouse Artifacts, the Baths, the House of the Tragic Poet, the Cat's Eyes, the Villa of the Mysteries. MSC Divina will arrive at the port of Civitavecchia at 7:00 AM. After breakfast, passengers will have personal time to explore this location. You can reach the city of Rome from Civitavecchia Port by bus in about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Notable sights include; Castel Sant'Angelo, the Tiber River, Borghese Park, Via Veneto, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza della Repubblica, Via Nazionale, Teatro Marcello, Circo Massimo, among the most recognized places in Rome. You can walk and discover Rome’s famous squares afterward. Sights that are highly recommended include; the Pantheon Square, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps. For other guests who do not wish to leave Civitavecchia, there are also different options available. The name of the city means "old town" in Latin. The historical and ancient ruins here are the most beautiful parts of the city. Therefore, our guests should first visit the Terme Taurine. Our ship will arrive at the port of Mykonos at 2:00 PM. After breakfast, passengers will have personal time to explore this location. During this time, they can visit Mykonos Town and explore the city. Then they can visit Mykonos Little Venice, which has a row of restaurants and bars by the sea. From here, they can go to the Mykonos Windmills, the most photographed spot in Mykonos, which is within walking distance of Little Venice. Guests who prefer to swim can visit one of Mykonos's stunning beaches, Super Paradise Beach or Mykonos Public Beach. For those interested in anthropology, visiting Delos Island, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1990, is an option.
